I know nothing of the relevant issues (well, at least much less than anyone who despises Monsanto, who seem to know everything the company has ever done and can read the minds of its top officers and Board members and have found nothing but malice and evil), but as readers know I am a big fan of pseudo-events and the tendency for Media to be manipulated by various competing groups. This appears to be an instant classic in terms of a pre-rally molotov-style article. Its so interesting in its brevity and multiple negative implications with respect to its target.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A strain of genetically engineered wheat that was never approved for U.S.sale or consumption was found sprouting on a farm in Oregon, the U.S. Agriculture Department said on Wednesday.
The wheat was developed years ago by biotechnology company Monsanto Co but never put into use in the face of worldwide opposition to genetically engineered wheat.
